SUNIA GEEL 2 - Domestic Violence - Update

The Sunia Geel 2 domestic violence project has been running since March 2013.

As part of Sunia Geel 2 Exchange House is currently busy preparing for the second partner meeting which will take place from 3rd-7th October in Palermo, Sicily. As part of Sunia Geel 2 we held focus groups with women and young people in August 2013 in relation to creating a response programme to domestic violence. Approximately five to six women/young people attended each group. These groups proved to be a great success with everyone contributing to the discussion. As the project continues there will be further training and group work. These focus groups have provided us with information that will help us develop programmes to respond to domestic violence.

In August we also completed research interviews with sixty service users. The results will be compiled together with those from our partner countries to create a cross cultural comparison.
