Exchange House Ireland: National Travellers Service is the largest front line Traveller specific service in Ireland. We are an organisation of Traveller and non-Traveller people working together to provide services to Traveller families, and Traveller young people and children and Traveller men and women, many of whom are in crisis. We pride ourselves in working with some of the most marginalised members of the Traveller community.
We are a multi-disciplinary service provider offering National Traveller Mental Health Services; Family Support and Crisis Intervention Services; Children and Young People Services; Addiction Services; and Education and Training Services to members of the Traveller community.
National Traveller Mental Health service is a Traveller specific mental health and suicide prevention service. The service aims to improve mental health and overall wellbeing and reduce the likelihood of suicide within the Traveller community. It delivers mental health supports and suicide prevention by engaging and consulting with Travellers and others to provide education, training, individual support and group work to the community.
The service adheres to and is guided by the Ireland’s National Strategy to Reduce Suicide 2015-2020 “Connecting for Life”.
Exchange House Ireland now wishes to recruit a Mental Health Facilitator to work as part of the National Traveller Mental Health Team and in partnership with local Traveller organisation, Offaly Traveller Movement.
This is a part time (20 hours per week) six month pilot programme.
The salary will be in the range of €32,351 - €51, 680 pro rata as per HSE Social Worker scale, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
